About Me

Alan Caron
I am a lifelong Mainer working to grow Maine's next economy. I see enormous potential for the Maine's future, if we can get our act together. I currently serve as President of Envision Maine (envisionmaine.org) and have run a small consulting firm since the late 1980's. I hope to share insights on current events and suggest some new ways of seeing the world.

Welcome to my new blog

After putting this onto my to-do list a few years back, I'm finally breaking down and starting a blog. I have some things to say. Writing them down hasn't always been my preferred route, but the time has come.

I hope to provoke thoughtful disagreement and full cooperation wherever possible.

My guiding light is this 19th century quote from a German philosopher who said: I would gladly walk twenty miles to listen to the words of my worst enemy.... if I could learn something. I'm all ears and I hope you are too!
